| A Sudanese camel caravan approaching Jebel Uweinat - As for spices, fabrics, and treasures of Orient transported on backs of camels it is a thing of the past. Today camels are herded trough Sahara for value they have themselves. A camel bought in Sudan and sold in Kufra gains over 100% in value. Nevertheless it is very far from easy money. You need to cross the desert on foot together with a couple of hundreds of camels to earn it. Sudanese herders who do it are tough indeed.
